What is a SIM card (SIM chip)?

What is a prepaid SIM card?

A prepaid SIM card is a SIM card with a “pay as you go” account. There are no contracts or monthly minimum usage. Simply add credits to your account, and credits are deducted as you use your phone.

What are the prices for shipping and handling?

We charge a flat rate for shipping and handling. All orders will be shipped within 24 to 48 hours of receiving your order. Orders placed on Saturday or Sunday will be shipped on the following Monday. After placing the selected SIM card in your shopping cart, a shipping rate calculator is available for determining exact shipping costs.

Will the SIM card work in my phone?

Your SIM card will work in any unlocked GSM world band phone, quad band phone, and US duel band phone. Please check with your phone manufacturer or cellular provider to make sure your phone will work in the USA..

Can I use a SIM card in a non GSM phone?

Unfortunately no, but you can buy a GSM phone in the ”Phones” section of our site.

How do I know if my phone is unlocked?

You should assume that your cell phone is not unlocked unless you specifically purchased an unlocked phone.

How can I unlock my phone?

Most cellular carriers will unlock your phone for you if you have been a customer of theirs for at least 3 months. If your provider will not unlock your phone, there are services on eBay that will do it for you.

Does my SIM card ever expire?

Yes, your account can expire, so you must use your SIM card once every 3 to 12 months to keep it active depending on which cellular provider you choose to go with. Please check the product details of the selected SIM card to verify the exact time period.

How will I know how to use the services on my SIM card such as voicemail?

When you receive the SIM card, you will also receive detailed directions for all the functions and services that the SIM card account offers including voicemail, how to recharge your SIM card, how to check your balence, and more.

Will my SIM card work outside the USA?

T-Mobile and AT&T SIM cards will only roam in Canada and Mexico, but you should check with your carrier about call cost and minimum balance requirements. This information is available on the carrier’s website.

How do I set my phone up to use data services?

While in the USA, you can contact your carrier’s customer support line for assistance. Most of the time, they will be able to send the data settings directly to your phone so you do not have to input anything yourself.

Does my SIM card come pre-activated with a phone number?

No, all of our SIM cards are brand new and come un-activated. Once you complete the activation process, you will receive your US phone number.

When does my SIM card become active?

Immediately after you activate it on-line or over the phone.

Can you ship my SIM card to my hotel so when I arrive it is waiting?

YES we can. During the checkout process simply provide us with the hotel's address in the US.

What is the difference between GSM 850/1900 and GSM 900/1800?

GSM 900/1800 are the cellphone frequencies used in most of the world. GSM 850/1900 are the cellphone frequencies used primarily in North America. Please make sure that your cellphone has either GSM 850 or GSM 1900 so it will work in the USA. If it is not compatible, we sell GSM 850/1900 cellphones in the "Phones" section of our website.

How can I recharge my USA SIM card?

You can recharge on-line with a credit card at the carriers' websites. Most convenient stores, pharmacies and gas stations sell refill cards as well for all the networks.
